| Chronological Profile :: Anne-Marie Hurst was vocalist with Skeletal Family from 1981-1985, singing on all Skeletal Family recordings/releases and live appearances prior to the band's signing to Chrysalis Records. Prior to Skeletal Family, sang backing vocals in the pre-embryonic Skeletal Family band, The Elements. Following her departure from the Skeletal Family in 1985, formed Ghost Dance, with the line up consisting of Anne-Marie, vocals, ex Sisters Of Mercy guitarist, Gary Marx, plus bassist, Etch, drums/percussion by Pandora (drum machine). Their first gig took place at The North East London Polytechnic, with songs including Celebrate, Last Train and A Deeper Blue, plus cover versions including Golden Earring's classic Radar Love. Additional guitarists through this initial period were Steve Smith (ex- Red Lorry Yellow Lorry), and Paul Southern. Richard Steel joined on second guitar, plus John Grant on drums, playing on "The Grip of Love" single. Due to the success of their early indie singles, the band signed to Chrysalis Records, releasing the "Stop the World" album, which followed with extensive British/European tours promoting the album. After the band's split, Anne-Marie continued working (with demo's recorded with former Sweet vocalist Brian Connelly's backing band) plus other local collaborations.
